Julia was the first Reiki Master in the state of Texas and the 35th Reiki Master in the world. She is fifth in the lineage from Dr. Mikao Usui, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi and Mrs. Hawayo Takata. Julia's holistic courses include Reiki Touch® Therapy, Levels I, II, and Master. She also teaches Reiki Professional Degree, a level of Reiki in which a professional person receives all the energy of the Reiki Master, without the Master title and without the responsibility of teaching. Please contact Julia for current private and group class information.

Julia incorporated the Reiki Touch® Institute of Holistic Medicine in 1984. Her company expanded into writing books, globally traveling and teaching this technique, to designing, managing and having Reiki Touch® research results published in major medical journals and magazines.

The Reiki Touch® Institute of Holistic Medicine is globally recognized as the authority relied upon by both traditional and alternative medical communities. Julia provided the first research for this holistic, touch healing modality. Her research, seminar and conference sites include the following:

Reiki Touch® Twentieth Anniversary Edition: Professional Touch Mysteries
Discusses Reiki Touch®, Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch, and related research issues. Aromatherapy, massage and meditation are also discussed. Each section describes the history and beliefs of the modality, the process of learning and usage, with research findings and ends with appropriate contacts and a glossary of terms.

The aromatherapy and massage section, along with hot stone therapy, explains uses of 21 common essential oils. The research section focuses on complementary and alternative therapies, particularly Reiki Touch®. Different research study designs, roles, funding, processes, and variables are discussed and illustrated by a qualitative Reiki Touch® study. The descriptions and discussions in the book are at a basic level and although many references are cited, a comprehensive list is not included. Overall, Reiki Touch® Twentieth Anniversary Edition: Professional Touch Mysteries offers an explanation of the three most common biofield therapies. It is a quick, on-the-spot, resource with ease of reference and usability.

Healing Touch International

Healing Touch, Reiki Touch® and Therapeutic Touch
People often ask the difference between Healing Touch, Reiki Touch® and Therapeutic Touch as there are a number of similarities between them. A recent book by Julia Carroll, a Reiki Master, includes all three with chapters on Healing Touch and Therapeutic Touch in this predominant exploration of today's Reiki practice and research. Reiki Touch® 20th Anniversary Edition: Professional Touch Mysteries includes chapters on Healing Touch by Diane Wind Wardell and a chapter on Therapeutic Touch by Casey Cheek. The book is set up in an easy to read style with photos and a personalized presentation. There are other chapters on aromatherapy, massage, spirituality and an overview of research in alternative touch therapies that enhance reading. The foreword to the book is by Dr. Stanley Krippner who identifies the book as a "bridge" to help others understand complementary treatments. It is an important contribution.
